I would like to create more outdoor living space and increase curb appeal. For the front yard, i would like to change the walkway to flagstone and am open to any suggestions regarding the facade eg paint colors, siding or stucco modifications (if needed).
For the backyard, I would like to make a secret garden and block out much of the view of our neighbors homes. Other aspects would be a flagstone patio and fireplace, possibly a trellis or structure to allow me to sit outside protected from the sunlight, and possibly a fountain and area to grill ( currently our grill sits under the eaves of the back roof. A must have is an aesthetically pleasing storage shed and greenhouse both in a "lean to" design along the rear end of the garage. I would like to preserve the size of our current yard in your proposed plan because for central Denver, it is quite large. Any lean-to combined shed/greenhouse should have proper drainage away from the foundation of the house. I also would like to have electricity and possibly a water source to the combined shed. I would like for the exterior of the shed to match the house which is a modern stucco. I also would like to use red Colorado flagstone along the bottom of the structure as an accent. I would like to build this structure on top of a concrete slab (which needs it needs to be poured). Currently this is empty space behind our garage. The size width from the edge of the house to the exterior backside of the garage opening to the yard is 15 feet. The depth is 5 feet but could potentially be extended to 8 feet. Along the back of the garage you will need to work around access to a utility line, a small window, and back door. By the way I have the architectural plans for the house in case you need them.
