The address is 19238 E. Starflower Dr. Queen Creek, AZ 85142- I bought this property about a month ago. I would like to have and area to growth vegetables, and fruit trees. The area is 1 acre, and there is a manufactured home in the middle (2200 ft2).
we will upload a list of plants etc that grow here and you can use in your designs. Please post any questions you may have.
Please correct the following:
The bearings are wrong: the patio is to the North. I had all backwards. Sorry.
The following publication can be found in the Internet "Landscape Plants for the Arizona Desert", it is a guide to more than 200 low-water-use plants. This booklet was developed by AMWUA Regional Water Conservation Committee ( www.amwua.org). The following features may or may not be part of this design, it is a guide for the designer about features I have seen in the area. Owners of similar lots focus mostly in a swimming pool, BBQs, grass area, and driveways, including a few isolated trees. I would like a different approach, for example: I would like the minimum for driveways. My preference is to move the entrance to the NE corner to have an easy access ( see sketch for guidance purpose only). And have a small turnaround right after the entrance, perhaps, with a covered two car structure. The rest of the area could include pathways ( 4 or 5 ft wide), mounds of dirt covered with gravel of a specific color. Small retaining walls to accentuate a feature. Small areas with a bench and in front of flowers, water features. Vegetable garden areas. Perhaps 5' x 10'. No sharp corners. The Ash tree growth fast and it is used a lot in the area. Fruit trees can be limited to one area or spread ( whatever fits the design). I like pine trees and it growths fine in the area. Vines around timber structures. New ideas are great!!- I uploaded some photos ( not sure if the website accept large files)
