Thanks for floating the competition.
We have increased the space for dining by demolishing the wall between living & kitchen. Horizontal ceiling beam and column is created to take the load. This beam column partition is created from the edge of the living room door on the south wall. Thus partition will get shifted towards left, thereby increasing the dining space.
Here we want open spaces but also alongside want separate entertainment spaces. Thus we have created a pattern partition ("Jaali") with square frames can be made of MDF plyboard / Acrylic / Wood. It would not hinder and visual connection between the two spaces and also act as a separation between the two. Also partition opening size is 4'-0" which is quite wide.
Dining chairs and table are inspired from the spanish designs. Kitchen cabinets are kept contrasting to the wall color and are kept raw (rough dark chocolate color laminate). Kitchen slab is of off white color.
Wall are kept light in color (beige), since spaces are dark during the day.
Ceiling downlighters are used for lighting. Wall lamps are used in the living room apart from the downlighters.
