The concept of this modern Balinese 2-lot house compound is to embrace outdoor living and pool area and merge it into interior living area, creating infinity views to the river landscape across the street without sacrificing the needs of privacy from neighbors and roadways. Some parts of ground level are elevated as high as 1.2 m (the height of swimming pool construction, please refer to building sections) to create a living zone that is above roadways' eye level. The residence building itself is like two private Balinese pavilions that can be accessed either from a house gate (main entrance) or garage (accommodating service access). The front gate leads firstly to swimming pool/inner courtyard, which connects to main living, dining or other common areas. All bedrooms, including the master bedroom are located on the second floor. There will be also lounge area and outdoor kitchen balcony on the second floor, which would be more private for the family members of the house.
The design mostly combines natural elements and materials that will create the tranquility of a modern Balinese villa, such as andesite wall stones / slates, bangkiray woods (for flooring and walls) , palimanan or travertine stones for flooring at the 1st floor, simple white painted and plastered walls, white pebble stones, grass / paddy-like planters and water element.
