Because I was born and raised in Texas, I understand the needs of those lucky enough to call it home. While your description stated you wanted the addition to be on the east side of the house, I would suggest you consider more of a tie end with the kitchen/garage side of the house. This is my first venture into Arcbazar and while I would like to win, I have a stronger compulsion to perhaps guide you to an alternate concept. You stated that matching the existing brick was probably not an option. My solution would be to clad the addition in a stone veneer and add touches of it to the existing house. Using some existing brick here and there on the new construction will tie all the materials together. My idea is to use the existing storage/workshop area as part of the new game room. I've also added the media room and a gym space along with a full bath. The summer kitchen is near the existing kitchen and this area flows into a big covered porch with an outside fireplace. This porch is open on three sides so as not to block any breeze. This all connects to a new workshop/lawn equipment storage area with an overhead door. The right side of the house has the new bedroom/full bath (you might consider making it wheelchair accessible) and a big storage closet. Everything is still very sketchy but I am sending it anyway for your consideration. I'm sure with the more feedback, I could create a wonderful home for you. The gameroom side addition adds 1352 sq. ft. The new bedroom add 380 sq. ft.
